Speight named in Wallabies squad

July 23, 2014 4:08 am

Fijian Henry Speight has today been named in the Australia squad to play in the Rugby Championship next month.

The Fijian-born 26-year-old will not be eligible to help break Australia’s 12-year Bledisloe Cup drought and will have to wait until the Wallabies’ Test against Argentina on the Gold Coast in September before he can pull on a gold jersey.

He will have reached the IRB’s 36-month threshold on September 11, in time for the back end of the Rugby Championship and the Wallabies’ third Test against the All Blacks in October.
