The Spain 7s team defeated Police 24-7 to win the #StrongerthanWinston Rugby 7s Fundraising Appeal tournament at Uprising Beach Resort in Deuba.

The visitors stayed true to their pledge made prior to the tournament and that was should they win the title, they would donate the $2000 prize-money to the Prime Minister’s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund.

Earlier in the semi-finals, Spain beat Wardens 15-14 while Police defeated Army Nadroga 7-0.

Army defeated Red Rock 17-0 to win the Plate title while Uprising beat Hideaway Hurricanes to collect the Bowl title.

Tournament organizer, James Pridgeon says a little over $5000 was collected through donations from the public during the one-day tournament.
