Rugby league has developed immensely in the country since the last World Cup.

That’s what former Fiji Bati national selector Steven Smith believes and he says Fiji has a lot to more to offer internationally.

“One thing is that they’re always very passionate about beating international teams and they have got the skill and natural flair and the ability to play at international level.”

Smith was in the country with his NZ Fiji U17 side for the Tangitupou Challenge.

The team returns home on Saturday and he hopes some of the players will return for the Battle of the Bati next month.
