Players in the Vodafone Fiji Futsal side will be out to learn as much as they can during the six-match tour to New Zealand from next week.
At least that’s the case for the youngest player in the squad, 19 year old Praveet Singh, who will also be going on his first trip overseas.
“I feel happy because it’s a great chance to play international level soccer. Playing with the reps; there’s a lot of senior players and I’m learning a lot. It’s also a great chance for me to travel overseas and play for Fiji.”
The 14-member Fiji Futsal side was given a warm send-off at the Fiji Football Association headquarters in Suva today.
The Intiaz Khan-coached side will depart for Auckland tomorrow and will play its first match on Tuesday against the Futsal Whites in the Trans Pacific Tournament.
The team will also play matches against the Waikato Bay of Plenty and Auckland Futsal Federation sides as well as the champion futsal side from New Caledonia, F.C Ferrand.
