The Fiji Pearls team Vice Captain Asilika Sevutia has praised the team’s unity.

This is after a month’s training in Australia, winning gold at the Arafura games and finishing off last in the Cadbury Netball series.

Sevutia says these matches and training sessions have made it possible for the team to bond and understand each other well.

The Vice Captain says that they have learnt a lot in the past few days and have gotten the feel of World Cup.

“The Silver Ferns have players who have played in two-three world cups, they are a much more experienced team. They even have some players who call themselves Legends of the game. So to be playing against them, we have learnt a lot and we can actually say that we have actually played our first pool match for World Cup after playing the Silver Ferns.”

Fiji is pooled with Jamaica, South Africa and Trinidad and Tobago.

The Fiji Pearls will take on Jamaica on Friday the 12th of this month.

According to the International Netball federation, Jamaica is ranked 2nd while Fiji is ranked 17th.
