New players are gelling well with senior members of the Fiji Airways Men’s 7s side.

After being named the Rookie Sevens Player of the year last year, 21-year-old Ratu Meli Derenalagi is ready to guide the younger members in the team.

Derenalagi has big shoes to fill especially after the young QVS – Old Boy as he is being looked at as one of the senior members of the team.

He says it’s all about hard work.

“For me it’s like, I always look at my weaknesses and try to work on it to become matured and to play well as seeing those senior players they have been leading so I need to be one of the leaders too so that’s what I always do.”

The Fiji Sevens team will take part in the 2019 Oceania Sevens Tournament which begins next week Thursday and ends on Saturday.
