Fiji Airway’s men’s 7s coach Gareth Baber will be giving game time to all his players as they aim to defend the Hamilton tournament in New Zealand this weekend.

Baber says he will ensure the players do not waste a lot of energy early in the tournament, instead play simple rugby and try to win all their pool games.

“Part of the process is to ensure that they don’t bust out of themselves just too early. They’ve got to make sure you keep a lid on it and as we move through the processes that we have to ensure that they are ready to go – and when they go out on Saturday and Sunday, all that energy comes out.”

Baber is expected to name his final squad tomorrow.

Fiji is pooled with Australia, Wales and Argentina at the Hamilton 7s.
