Ryan confident of Fijian players

Vodafone Fiji sevens coach Ben Ryan says if his players stay on top of their game during the two-day Dubai tournament, it will be tough for any other team to beat them.

However, the mentor says it’s all about consistency and he has been reminding the players about this as they prepare to defend their title in the desert sands.

Ryan says it will be a tough two days for his side as all teams want to win the second World Rugby Sevens Series tournament of the season.

“Am incredibly happy and I have told during the Gold Coast Sevens that our biggest opponent is going to be ourselves. If we get our best game out there and concentrate for the two days in those games, it is going to take an incredibly impressive performance by anyone to beat us.”

Fiji plays France in its opening match at 6.44pm tomorrow, before meeting Brazil at 9.44pm.

The last pool match is against Argentina at 1.52am on Saturday.
