Reds wary of the Sunwolves

Queensland Reds prop JP Smith says his side will not be underestimating an unpredictable Sunwolves side in their super rugby clash this weekend.

The winless Reds who have arrived yesterday in Japan have assumed rare underdog status against the Sunwolves, who have turned heads this Super Rugby season.

Smith says there was still plenty of confidence despite three straight losses to open the season.

“I’m not saying we did, but may be a lot of guys saw that maybe an easy game, more than a holiday than a game and I’m just shows you what they’re capable of doing so there’s no way we can take this team light up.”

The Reds were thrashed 63-28 on their last visit.

Smith has promised no repeat as they aim to bounce back from Saturday’s disappointing loss to the Waratahs at the SCG.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes meet Chiefs at 6.35pm Friday while the Waratahs clash with the Brumbies at 8.45pm Friday.

On Saturday, Stormers meet Jaguares at 5.10am, Sunwolver battle Reds at 4.15pm while the Highlanders taking on the Crusaders at 5.35pm.

On Sunday Lions will play Rebels at 1.05am.
