Fiji Airways Men’s National Sevens side today had scrimmage sessions with the Australian 7s team and National Fire Authority sevens side at Albert Park.

Coach Gareth Baber says the team are using these games as a buildup session towards the Oceania 7s and HSBC World 7s Series.

He adds that the new players are providing the challenge for the senior players as every man wants a spot in the team.

“To keep pushing our standard and keep using these games to push us on and on for that HSBC level. I’ll be using it for that and to see the type of players we got, it’s a big year for HSBC defense and a big year for Olympic defense.”

The Fiji sevens side and Aussie Men’s 7s team will both compete in next week’s Oceania 7s.
