Lautoka, Yasawa, Ovalau & Nanukuloa vie for Skipper Cup spots

Four teams in the Vodafone Vanua Championships are now in the running to be promoted to the Skipper Cup competition next year.

The two teams will be confirmed after this weekend’s semifinals.

Lautoka, Yasawa, Ovalau and Nanukuloa are the four remaining teams from the Vanua championship.

Lautoka and Yasawa have qualified from the Senior Western zone while Ovalau and Nanukuloa have made it into the semifinal from the Senior Eastern Zone.

Lautoka plays Nanukuloa at home while Yasawa travels to face Ovalau in Levuka.

The two finalists from the Vodafone Vanua Championship will be automatically promoted to the Skipper Cup next season replacing Northland and Rewa.

Meanwhile, in the Skipper Cup semifinals, this weekend, Suva host Nadi at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori and Nadroga meet Naitasiri at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

Both Skipper Cup semifinals will be aired live on FBC Channels.

The Suva and Nadi match will be shown on FBC Sports while Nadroga and Naitasiri game will be aired on FBC TV on Saturday at 3pm.
