Ireland has to recover well says Coach

Ireland Coach Joe Schmidt believes Ireland started really well in all four of their games.

They defeated Samoa 47-5 in their final pool match last night.

He however has shown disappointment in conceiting the one try that they did.

It was disappointing probably to conceit the try that we did. Samoa muscled up really well for it but I actually thought that we were tactically, relatively solid once we lost Bundy because, it would have been really hard to play with a huge amount of width.

Schmidt says it’s very important for the team to recover well.

It probably just squeezes up our preparation, whereas either of the opponents that we will face they will watch tomorrow evening’s game, see the result, know who they are playing but in the meantime they will be ready to hit the ground running whereas we might need another day or so to recover.

Ireland will need to wait for the result of the Japan vs Scotland match to determine who they will face in the quarterfinals.

World Rugby are yet to decide whether the Japan vs Scotland will go ahead or not due to Typhoon Hagabis.
