Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has been re-elected as President for the Fiji Rugby Union for next four years.

This was confirmed by FRU Chief Executive John O’Connor at the Fiji Rugby Annual General Meeting yesterday.

O’Connor says Bainimarama’s appointment as President was a result of no other nomination submission for the post, nor met with any opposition.

“Lastly, we are supposed to have elections for the board of directors and the President but there were only one nomination so the President was re-confirmed for another four year term and likewise the line directors have been confirmed to continue until next year when we will have election on orientation basis.”

O’Connor adds they will have the formal election for the line directors later on in the year.
