The Fiji U20 Rugby Team believes they need to play more games in order for them to be up to par with tier one teams.

This is after the Baby Flying Fijians who arrived home today retained their spot in the World Rugby Junior World Championship after avoiding relegation during this year’s Championship in Argentina.

Coach Kele Leawere says that he was happy with the player’s performance during the championship.

“The aim is to remain up there next year and all the teams had prepared well and most of them were tier 1 nations so all the games were really hard.”

However U20 captain Tevita Ikanivere is calling for more game time.

“Yeah, I think there should be more games for the U20 going into the JWC like the teams overseas they play in their tournaments, for example, the 6 Nations they have their U20 competition and Fiji only has one preparation which is Oceania.”

The side will take part in next year’s Championship in Italy.
