The Vodafone Fiji Under-20 side went down 53-7 to New Zealand in their first Oceania Rugby Championship encounter on Gold Coast in Australia.
The Baby Blacks took an early 3-0 lead through a penalty kick 20 minutes into the first half.
The New Zealand under-20 side continued its dominance scoring another try later on to increase their lead 8-0.
Fiji than clapped back with a try from Kameli Rasuka in the first half but it wasn’t enough as New Zealand lead 15-7 at the breather.
Fiji’s left-winger Epeli Momo was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle, three minutes into the second spell.
Playing with only fourteen players in the second-half, Fiji failed to ground another try in the entirety of the second spell.
New Zealand picked up their pace again scoring 38 points against a struggling Fijian side to seal the victory.
