Army wins Sukuna Bowl

Army has defeated Police to claim the Ratu Sukuna Bowl with a 20-17 win.

The Delainabua side earlier that history was not going to be repeated today and they did just that.

Jeke Suguturaga and Apisalome Waqatabu exchanged penalties midway into the first half.

A yellow card to Police flanker Jone Navori proved to be the difference in the first spell for Army as former Flying Fijians prop Vesi Rarawa crashed over for their first try.

Minutes later winger, Gabrieli Matakiviwa extended Army’s lead with another try after a mistake by Police fullback Apisalome Waqatabu.

Army led 17-3 at halftime.

Police were the first to score in the second half through replacement hooker former Flying Fijian Ratunaisa Navuma which was converted by Waqatabu before Army fly-half Jone Manu extended their lead with a penalty.

But Police blindside flanker Sireli Kaloucava was rewarded for his efforts in the game when he dived over between the sticks for their second try but it was not enough.
