The Fiji Secondary School Rugby League competition continues to produce more local talents securing international scholarships and contracts.

NRL stars Marika Koroibete, Suliasi Vunivalu, Taqele Naiyaravoro, Sakeo Railoa, and Tui Kamikamica have all come through school league competition.

Ratu Sukuna Memorial School’s Coach Semi Kamikamica says two of his players recently left for New Zealand after being offered scholarships to study and play rugby league.

He says this year they are aiming to send a few more players to the overseas clubs.

Well, my aim is for these kids to have a good life for their future. It’s not just about preparing them for the deans or league. If they win the deans they will not take the deans home. If they have a contract or have a scholarship, then that is their future.”

Meanwhile, the Fiji Secondary School Competition will continue this Saturday at Bidesi Ground in Suva.
