FNRL selects 40 member women's squad

The Fiji National Rugby League has selected a forty-member women’s squad to prepare for the 2019 Pacific Games squad in Samoa.

The women’s side had their first trial on Saturday at the USP grounds.

Fiji Women’s NRL Nines Coach Peni Tubakibau says the first trial was to see how well players knew the sport.

“Not their fitness but skills wise in where they stand in the general knowledge of the game, the core skill that they have and because the fitness we believe that will build the skills. So it’s just the basic of the game.”

The FNRL will name its final 15 member squad in April for the 2019 Pacific Games in July.
