Ross eyes to set new record in swimming

Swami Vivekananda College’s Year 12 student Netani Ross hopes to break the national records in the 2019 Pan Pacific Swimming Champions which begins tomorrow at Damodar Aquatic center.

Ross will captain the men’s national team and will participate in the 100metres backstroke plus 50 and 100 meters freestyle during the four-day event.

The 17 year old says his team will be looking at performing to their utmost best against top ranked nations.

“The Fiji team looks alright they all seem alright and also we have been coming to training every morning and afternoon and just working on a few things. We’re expected to do our very best during the competition and perform well.”

Meanwhile 36 swimmers from Fiji will be participating in the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championship with 250 swimmers from 11 countries including USA, Canada, Singapore, Japan, Australia and New Zealand are taking part in the championship.
