Queen's Baton heads towards Pacific Harbour

The 2018 Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton relay team is making its way to the Uprising Beach Resort in Pacific Harbour.

The team was in Suva earlier this way making its way through Victoria Parade and to Olympic House before heading down to Tikaram Park in Lami.

The Queen’s baton returned to Fiji after a lapse of 12 years. The last time it was here was in early 2006 on its way Melbourne.

Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee Public Relation Sitiveni Tawake says they will drive down to Nadi in the afternoon and rest overnight before the relay team leave for Samoa tomorrow.

The Queen’s baton will be travelling for 388 days throughout Commonwealth nations and territories before the Commonwealth Games begins in Australia on April 4th next year.
