Wild West Boxing Promoter, Abdul Khan is seeking legal action against Fiji Heavyweight boxing champion, Petero Qica, after the latter pulled out of the title fight against contender, Napoleon Taumoepeau in Nadi last night.

Khan says the fighter, did not show any hint of injury while training earlier yesterday.

Khan adds he was just as surprised and disappointed as the hundreds of fans at Prince Charles Park when he received a call from Qica at the eleventh hour.

“My doctor had checked him and saw him fit to compete in the program. Early in the morning of the fight, people saw him training. Only a few hours left until the fight, he called me to say he has a muscle injury.”

Khan says he will also seek legal action against Qica as well as the doctor appointed by the Boxing Commission of Fiji, who issued Qica’s medical certificate.

The promoter is also drafting a letter to the Boxing Commission to strip Qica off the Fiji Heavyweight title.

Attempts to get comments from Qica as well as the Boxing Commission of Fiji proved futile.
