Defending champion Jitend Prasad defended his title after beating Berenio Pene 4-1 in the final of the Nausori Open Snooker tournament at Nausori Club last night.
Prasad won the first four frame and walked away with one thousand dollars prize money.
The runner-up Pene received $400.
Tournament coordinator, Timoci Gaunavinaka says there were a few upsets created with the tournament intensifying in the finals.
" There were some upsets where Epeli Bua lost to Goundar from Nadi, and also Yogend Prasad didn’t make it to the pre-quarters because he was one of the top player.”
Meanwhile, 31 top snooker players from around the country were competing in the three day tournament which ends last night.
