The FIBA– USP Under-19 Oceania Basketball Championships was launched at the Vodafone Arena in Suva this morning.
Chief-Guest at the ceremony, Minister of Youth and Sports Laisenia Tuitubou says the week long tournament should not only about competition but also for the players to unite with each other.
Fiji will be competing against Australia, Guam, New Caledonia, Samoa, Solomon Islands, American Samoa, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Tahiti in the event.

The tournament starts with Australia playing against American Samoa in the women’s division, while Guam takes on PNG. Both matches started this hour.
Fiji plays Samoa in the women’s category at 5pm and in the men’s side takes on American Samoa at 7pm.
