Netball Fiji applauds Australian support

AUSTRALIAN PRIME MINISTER SCOTT MORRISON MEETING WITH NETBALL FIJI PRESIDENT WAINIKITI BOGIDRAU

Netball Fiji President Wainikiti Bogidrau has commended the assistance provided by the Australian government as they prepare for the World Cup in July.

Bogidrau says the assistance has come in a timely manner as the funding will go directly to the welfare of the players.

She says it will meet their demand in taking the squad up to the standard that is required.

We’re excited about the funding especially the time when we needed the find. We will create a lot of excitement within the netball circle and we’ve discussed this over the past few weeks and we’re excited that it’s being announced officially by the Prime Minister of Australia himself.”

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced that they will be working with Netball Australia to financially support the Fiji Pearls preparing for the World Cup.

Meanwhile, national coach Vicky Wilson arrives this weekend from Australia to be part of the squad’s first trial next Saturday.

Fiji is in Pool C with Jamaica and South Africa who are 4th and 5th seeds respectively with Trinidad and Tobago.

The World Cup will be held from the 12th to the 21st of July in Liverpool, England.
