The Naitasiri rugby side retained the HFC Bank Farebrother Trophy after defeating Nadroga 26-17 in the Challenge this afternoon at Nausori’s Ratu Cakobau Park.
The Stallions made the first say from Ratu Naisa Navuma.
Naitasiri halfback Frank Lomani then replied with a try to equal the score line 5-all and two successful penalties which extended their lead 11-5.
Seremaia Naureure then scored another try for Naitasiri to put them 18-5 lead at half time.
Frank Lomani then added a double in the second spell while Nadroga added two tries which came from Sakiusa Nakalevu and Sailosi Rabo but was not good enough to matchup the strong Highlanders side.
Coach Koli Sewabu says it was the team’s effort that contribute to the victory.
“I thank the boys for playing the whole 90 minutes of the game. It was close encounter I would say it’s a tough one but we stick to our game plan and we manage to win the game.”
Meanwhile, Tailevu will challenge Naitasiri next Saturday.
