After 20 years of heartbreak and pain, the Highlanders have won the Super Rugby title.
And they did it in style too with a 21-14 victory against hosts Hurricanes in Wellington last night.
Fijian Flyer Waisake Naholo scored the only try of the second spell to mark off a superb season for himself.
The Nadroumai villager finishes as the top try scorer in this season with 11 touchdowns.
The Highlanders led the Hurricanes 5-13 at half time after a try by Elliot Dixon, two penalties and a conversion from Lima Sopoaga.
Having only lost two matches all season and with home advantage the Hurricanes went into the final as strong favourites.
It was a game packed with emotion with neither side having previously won the championship.
The Hurricanes are now the only New Zealand team not to have won a Super Rugby title.
