Nadi wary of defending champions

November 20, 2015 3:04 am

It will be a top of the table clash when defending champions NZFFI All Stars takes on Ratsun Nadi at the Pacific Football Cup in New Zealand today.

Both teams have four points after two matches with NZFFI leading the charge with a better goal difference.

The defending champions started the tournament on a low profile and were held by CFR Line Suva 1-all in the first match but came back strongly to thrash the Wellington All Stars 3-nil yesterday.

The side includes former Suva and Nadroga rep Jonas Naceva, Fiji under 20 representative Shoaib Ali Khan and tournament’s top goal scorer so far James Hoyt who has netted four goals in two matches.

Nadi failed to impress in the first match against the Manuaku All Stars and were held to a scoreless draw but was a changed side last night that defeated CFR Line Suva 1-nil.

The 2012 and 2013 champions will need to be at their best to match the fast paced football played by last yeas champions.

The match kicks off at 9pm while at 10.15 pm, Shop N Save Lautoka takes on Fair Trade Rewa.

You can catch live commentaries of both matches on Radio Fiji Two with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart.
