The Tailevu Athletics Association will be fielding more athletes compared to the previous years at the Central Chow Games, this week.

Coach Lasarusa Senibale says the athletes are well prepared and are ready to showcase their talents at the tournament.

“We have got about 125 athletes coming in from eleven schools around the Tailevu area, the furthest school that we have is from Kaba and for them to come to training, they have to travel by boat and then get off and then come by bus, so it’s quite a distance from Nausori but for them to make it here is an encouragement to the squad members.”

The Central Chow Games will be held at the ANZ Stadium on Friday, starting with the Under 9 Girls Long Jump at 8.30am.
