Members of the national under 16 and 18 rugby teams today presented their i-Tatau to the Head of State as they prepare to depart for overseas duties.
The Under 16 team will head to Gold Coast, Australia to take part in the 2018 Junior Rugby Championship while the Under 18 boys will travel to New Zealand for a three-match tour.
President Major General Retired Jioji Konrote says the players should be proud of themselves as they will fly Fiji’s banners in their respective matches.
“It’s going to be a very tough tournament. Enjoy the sites, I’m sure most of you will be traveling for the first time and make new friends. Always remember that you’re representing your family, your school and the nation.”
The under 18 side will meet the New Zealand Barbarians, New Zealand Maoris and the Wellington Samoans starting this Thursday until next week’s Sunday.
The under 16 team will compete in the Junior Rugby Championship which starts on Friday and ends next Saturday.
