The Marist volleyball club won its opening game in the 15th Asia Pacific Challenge in Auckland, New Zealand last night, beating Harbor Sharks by three sets to one.

This was a major upset as Sharks are the losing finalists from last year’s competition.

Marist is competing in the competition for the first time.

The side is laced with national reps such as Qilu Elliot, Epeli Ratabacaca and Inia Korowale.

Marist will take on Papua New Guinea in their next match at 5:30pm today.
