Increased sponsorship to help players

Football players who compete for their districts in the Courts Inter-District Championships next month stand to benefit from the $120,000 worth of sponsorship.

Fiji Football President, Rajesh Patel says he will ensure the increased monetary sponsorship by Courts Fiji Limited will be given to the players for their commitment to the districts.

“The winner will get $20,000, the runner up will get $5,500 and the semi finalist will get $1,000. In the senior division, the winner will get $7,000, the runner up will get $2,000 and the semi finalist will get $250 each.”

The Courts IDC pools were drawn yesterday with defending champions, Suva grouped with Nadi, Lautoka and newcomers, Dreketi in Pool A.

Ba are top seeds in Pool B, alongside Nadroga, Rewa and Labasa.

The first round of matches will be played on the 3rd and 4th of October at Govind Park while the competition proper will begin on October 7th.
