FRU releases Player Development Release Fees

Three secondary schools today received their Player Development Release Fees from the Fiji Rugby Union.

These schools are Natabua High School, Suva Grammar School and Lelean Memorial School.

FRU Chief Executive, John O’Connor says the release fees were paid by respective overseas clubs contract for the release of contracted players from their schools in Fiji.

Natabua High School Vice Principal, Rusiate Nadali acknowledged FRU for their effort.

“This is somehow a historical achievement for teachers for sacrificing through development in secondary school rugby and our hard work has finally paid off and recognized by overseas club where our students have been contracted to.”

Suva Grammar School PEMAC Head of Department, Apete Luva says their dreams have finally come true.

“In the past we normally looking forward to this kind of opportunity to get something from the main body regarding contracts and we thank FRU.”

Four students from these schools are currently playing rugby in France which is Kemueli Tokalau and Enieli Waqayawa from Lelean, Kitione Kamikamica from Natabua while Jone Seavou from Suva Grammar.
