The Fiji Rugby Union remains confident that the Vodafone national sevens team is on track for a top of the podium finish in the World Series.
Fiji is currently second on the points table with 51 points, eight behind leaders, South Africa.
FRU chief executive, Radrodro Tabualevu, says the team needs the support of the nation.
“Because we are quite confident with Fiji behind the team we will certainly hit our targets by qualifying for the 2016 Rio Olympics but we are confident we will also challenge for the first position.”
Meanwhile, Vodafone Fiji has presented FRU with the bonus payment of $8000 for the semi-final outing by the team during the Dubai tournament.
The team is entitled to bonus for appearances in semi-final onwards and this will be paid to the players in the squad by FRU.
