FRU aware of concerns on Fiji's poor performance

The Fiji Rugby Union is aware of the concerns raised by the fans following the dismal performance displayed by the Fiji Airways men’s 7s team in Sydney last weekend.

The side finished sixth in the tournament and has slipped to fifth place on the World Rugby Sevens Series standings.

Chief Executive, John O’Connor says they hope the national team will bounce back in Hamilton this weekend.

“I think that everyone is disappointed and we just hope the team will regroup and perform well in Hamilton this. There is no easy teams for the series and I hope they can learn from their mistakes.”

The Fiji 7s has been drawn in Pool A alongside Australia, Wales and Spain in the Hamilton tournament.

Fiji will play Wales in its first pool game at 11.36am on Saturday, and will then take on Spain at 3.02pm before battling Australia at 6.50pm.

The cup quarterfinals starts at 11.36am on Sunday, the semis will be played at 3.49pm while the final kicks off at 7.03pm Sunday.
