Fiji football captain Roy Krishna has won the Professional Footballers Australia Player of the Month Award for January.

Wellingtonphoenix.com reports, the award is nominated by a committee comprised of former players and leading figures in the Australian football media and the nominees are voted on by PFA members from both competitions.

The Fijian flyer has enjoyed a fantastic start to the A-League 2018/19 season, scoring 12 goals in 19 appearances and becoming the highest goal scorer in the history of the club.

Krishna also netted twice in three consecutive games; a Hyundai A-League record for any player.

Krishna will once again take to the pitch looking for glory as Wellington Phoenix take on Sydney FC in Campbell town on Saturday.
