Lautoka football defender Poasa Bainivalu is expected to play a vital role for the side in the Vodafone Premier League and the OFC Champions League this year.

Bainivalu has been one of the regular starters in the side last season and says he has been working hard to maintain his spot in the team.

“We are just working on our fitness from last week and boys are getting to it. We played one friendly match last weekend and to come back to the league this new season, the boys are ready.”

Lautoka plays Tavua in its opening VPL match at 3pm Sunday.

In the other match at the same time Ba faces Nasinu at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
