November 17, 2015 5:54 pm

Some districts competing in the 2015 FMF Chow Games this week will receive assistance for travelling expenses to the competition in Suva.

The Fiji National Sports Commission will be subsidizing some of the costs of travelling for some of the 20 districts to ease the financial burden in order to compete in the two-day meet.

FNSC Manager for Sports Development, Joji Liga says it’s a timely boost for the rural districts who have to fork out large sums of money to participate.

“I think that’s a little way we can contribute and I’m sure its going to grow big in years to come. Particularly in our disadvantaged communities, sports people out there do not have often get the assistance that the other people in the urban places of the country receive. So we are glad to be a part of this initiative as well.”

1540 athletes will compete in the FMF Chow Games which begins on Thursday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
