Flying Fijians lock not afraid of Tonga

June 12, 2014 12:42 am

Lanky Vodafone Flying Fijians lock Leone Nakarawa says the Fiji team and its players don’t fear Tonga.

The former sevens rep, who now plays for the Glasgow Warriors in Scotland, made his international debut against the Tongans in 2009.

Nakarawa didn’t feature for the team in the 25-14 win over Italy last weekend, and this weekend has been given the nod to start at locks and is one of the five changes in the team from last week.

He says it is always exciting for him and the national players to feature in clashes against their Pacific rivals.

“The Tongan team, they always boast that have a good forward because they think they are so big. We don’t play depending on how big we are but with our hearts. Some of us we have big body but small hearts and if you have big body and small heart you can’t achieve anything. The Fijians boys, we don’t have big bodies but big heart and we work together and the Tonga game will be a big and tough game and we are aiming to win this game.”

The Fiji-Tonga match starts at 3pm at Churchill Park and you can catch a live commentary on BULA FM with the voice of rugby, Graham Eden.
