FIFA Instructor and Technical Advisor, Hesterine De Reus believes the National Women’s Football side has chances of achieving better results at professional level.

The former Australian women’s football coach was present at the Ultimate Fiji Soccer Cup in Denarau yesterday.

She says Fiji FA has done a good initiative in arranging such tournaments to uplift the standard of the sport from grass root level.

“When the national team was in Australia last summer, I saw that there was quite diversity in the team. Some very talented players and some maybe less talented players, so it would be really good to have a wider pool, so you can select more players from an equal level.”

De Reus adds there’s a lot of talent that needs to be recognized in order for the football to grow in the country.

Meanwhile, the Ultimate Fiji Soccer Cup tournament continues in Ba and Nadi, today.
