Fiji U20s grab first JWC victory

June 8, 2012 8:00 pm

The Fiji Under 20 rugby team is in high spirits after securing their first Junior World Championship win, beating Samoa 15-3 in South Africa.

Coach Sale Sorovaki says the win this morning was a boost especially after defending champions, New Zealand were upset by Wales, 9-6.

Sorovaki adds with NZ up next, Fiji still needs to be mistake-free if they are to topple the Kiwis too.

“I think the only negative part is the drop balls and that is probably due to the weather we will be coming back very strong against New Zealand on Tuesday.”

Fiji plays New Zealand on Wednesday 12.45am (Fiji time).

The game will be broadcast live on FBC TV.

Meanwhile, in other results, Argentina beat Australia 15-3.

England came from a 3-15 deficit to beat Ireland 20-15, South Africa found their form to wallop Italy 52-3 while France beat Scotland 30-20.
