May 1, 2014 6:29 pm

The Vodafone Fiji Under-19 football side has been given the best facilities in New Zealand in a bid to ensure the side is well exposed to the professional environment.

The team is currently on tour in Auckland as the team continues its build-up to the OFC Under-20 World Cup play-offs.

Coach Ravinesh Kumar says the team has been in safe hands, which has given the players proper focus towards its matches.

“They have been looking after us very well. The accommodation is in the OFC academy and the meals and transport is given to us by the NZ Fiji FA. That is wonderful. When we went to Bill Mckinley Park to play the first game we had a number of people coming and seeing us and same as in Waitakere’s ground, Fred Taylor Park.”

Meanwhile, the side played Western Springs last night and won 5-2 to remain undefeated so far on tour.

The U20 World Cup play-offs will be held at the ANZ Stadium in Suva from May 23-31.
