The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee has welcomed the allocation of four million and eight thousand dollars to the upcoming tournaments Fiji will be participating in.

FASANOC President- Joe Rodan says this comes to show how much the government has faith in the development of sports in Fiji.

“Sports generally has helped to drive the economy and if you look at sports it’s one way of combating NCD diseases. By allocating this funds to sports it will only motivate and develop those athletes that wanting to take up sports seriously.”

Rodan adds one of the events that Fiji is preparing for is the upcoming Youth Olympics.
