Heavyweight fighter, Napoleon Taumoepeau says local boxing fans were robbed of their money after Fiji Heavyweight champion, Petero Qica pulled out at the last minute in their scheduled title fight over the weekend.

Taumoepeau says he feels for the fans who forked out money from their own pockets to witness the fight, especially those that travelled from afar to be at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Saturday.

“Our job as prize fighters is to train hard and give the fans entertaining fights. Not to do this; this is a complete low-blow to boxing in Fiji. He’s brought shame to his family, to the heavyweight division. To me, that belt is worthless now; I don’t even want it anymore.”
