England commits robbery against Colombia: Maradona

July 5, 2018 4:30 am

England committed a “monumental robbery” in beating Colombia in the last 16 at the World Cup, according to Argentina legend Diego Maradona.

BBC Sports reports, the Colombia captain also accused the referee of bias towards England, calling the American’s performance “shameful”.

Maradona felt the referee should have penalised Harry Kane for a foul on Colombia’s Carlos Sanchez instead of awarding the penalty that allowed the England captain to open the scoring just before the hour mark in Moscow.
Meanwhile on Sunday, England plays Sweden at 2am while Russia faces Croatia four hours later.

The semifinals will be played on next Wednesday and the final is scheduled for 16th of this month at 3am.
