Newly-appointed Fiji football coach, Frank Farina says he has his work cut out for him in building a solid team for national duties.
Speaking at a press conference earlier today, Farina says a lot of development work is needed to lift the standard of football in the country.
“It’s a long road, there’s not going to be any quick fixers or miracles. Football is a different game but I think there are a lot of possibilities, a lot of potential here in Fiji, not only from player development but also from coaching development as well. There’s a lot of work to be done. And the more coaches we get through the clinics and better the better they become, the better the players will become.”
The former Australian rep guided the national Under 20 side during the FIFA Under 20 World Cup in New Zealand earlier this year.
Farina’s term as national coach is for two years and he will take over from current coach; Carlos Buzzetti, when the latter’s term expires in November.
