Known as the Northern Prince, Ratu Rakuro Daunivavana eagerly awaits his fight in the South Pacific Boxing Program next week in Nadi.

The Savusavu-based boxer will take on Sebastian Singh for the Super Welterweight title.

Daunivavana says he has been spending his mornings and afternoons at the Jittu Boxing Club in Raiwaqa, trying to get all the possibilities before rumbling in the ring.

“I came a long way so I won’t let my family down and my fans and if you come out in great numbers I’ll give you what you want and you expect me to give. I’m ready for the challenge and I know he’s a good fighter and he’s the best in Fiji but it doesn’t discourage me from anything and I believe I’m the best in my division.”

Daunivavana is currently in Suva training with former boxer and Jittu Boxing Stable trainer, Marika Yalimaiwai.

He has had three wins, four losses and a draw so far in his boxing career while Singh has 11 wins, three losses and a draw.

The Boxing Program will have 14 bouts before The Northern Prince meets The Sniper at Prince Charles Park on Saturday.
