The Cuvu College Under-18 team is looking forward to creating history by qualifying for its first ever Deans final.
Cuvu meets Marist Brothers High School in the semi-final on Saturday in Suva.
The underdogs from Nadroga which qualified as the second best team from the Western Zone lost in the semifinal last year.
Cuvu coach, Metuisela Navitio, says the players are aware of the mission ahead as they have been nurtured in such a way coming through the Nadroga Rugby development programs.
“According to the target like other team we are targeting to be the winner for the Deans competition but we do respect our opponents which is Marist Brothers High School who has been in the Deans competition for a couple of years.”
Cuvu College defeated former Deans champions Lelean Memorial School by 20-14 in the quarter-final last weekend.
The Westerners take on Marist Brother High School in the first semi-final at 2.30pm and at 4pm Ratu Kadavulevu School meets Ratu Navula College at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
