India’s Cricket board has advertised the positions of head coach Ravi Shastri and his support staff for the men’s team.

This comes after Black Caps stunned India in their World Cup semi-final at Old Trafford last week, winning by 18 runs after successfully defending 239-8 in a thrilling contest that went down to the wire.

It was a catastrophic result for the cricket-mad nation and their remarkable defeat to New Zealand was one few saw coming after India finished the group stage top of the standings.

The two-time world champions were many people’s hot favourites for the 2019 title which England won in extraordinary circumstances but the team led by Virat Kohli crashed out in the semi-finals for the second successive World Cup.

The result of the team’s performance has led to the nation’s cricket body to invite applications for the positions of head coach, batting coach, bowling coach, fielding coach and others.

India won seven of their nine group games at the tournament in England and Wales before missing out on the final.
