Queensland Reds head coach Brad Thorn announced his reasons for dropping Quade Cooper out of his team in this year’s super rugby campaign.

Thorn says Cooper is a good player who has done a lot for the club but it’s time for a change.

“This is the decision I made so I’m in this role and sometimes you got to make tough decisions and I’ve played against him as a Crusader and an All Black and he has over one hundred tests for this club but like I said we just going a different way.”

The Reds will take on the Rebels in their first match next week in Melbourne Australia.
