Black Ferns 7s youngster ready for Sydney tournament

New Zealand womens 7s youngster Alena Saili hopes to maintain her form in the Sydney and Hamilton tournaments.

After making her debut in Sydney last year, Alena Saili has not missed a tournament for the Black Ferns 7s side.

She says a lot of hardwork and dedication is needed in-order to make it into the team.

“It’s a lot of hard work required and a lot of changes need to form better. Just getting use to different stuff, eat right, training properly, recover right and to make sure you are best for the tournament and for the selection to make it.”

New Zealand is pooled with USA, England and Japan.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways mens 7s side is pooled with New Zealand, Samoa and Russia.

They kick off their campaign against Samoa at 8.28pm on Friday.

The side then plays Russia at 5.09pm on Saturday before facing New Zealand at 8.42pm.

The Cup quarter-final kicks off at 12.28pm on Sunday, semi-final begins at 6.36pm and the final is schedule for 9.48pm.
